Modeling the Capsized U.S.S. Oklahoma!

The World Turned Upside Down
December 7, 1941, the world was turned upside down by the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. For the men in the U.S.S. Oklahoma, it was quite literal. The Oklahoma was moored beside the U.S.S. Maryland, second in line of what was known as Battleship Row. In the first few minutes of the attack, several torpedoes hit her on her outboard side. This opened up several compartments to the harbor water and she immediately started to capsize. Within minutes the mighty battleship was almost completely upside down, her bottom facing the sky.
