Hi Mark,
That is one great looking boat, your PE fabrication is spot on. The brass work really adds to the build.

Steady as she goes. Yes, nice and easy does it, Mark, and when the parts are that small it's like creating jewellery - one facet placed very carefully at a time.
Bent guns? - remember, only God is perfect.
Great work, Mark, on a great kit. I'm enjoying the show - keep modelling!

Not at all, my friend!
A bit more progress to report, first primer, then a base coat overall, and time for the tiny detailing!
And a word or two about 1/700 scale cable reels...you guys that build these in this scale all the time are nuts! (oh, the choice words that was repeated by me as I fashioned this one...

)
And a bit O' base work...using Vallejo Water effects...
The stuff is drying to a much calmer looking sea effect then shown in the fresh images...more to come!

Nice touch on the recovery raft - it's these small details that make our models unique

Looking forward to see how the water turn out

Nice work, Just a question, I have no experience with ships this small, are you goung to give it a wash - and if so, what are you going to use ?
Looking forward to see the "water" when it dries up.
Cheers/Jan

Thanks, my friend, I will probably give it a light wash with some dark umber oil wash, to help accentuate the tiny details, and give it a bit of that "in use" look, but very light...and maybe a bit of rust here and there as well with some pigments...

Thanks mate!
I do agree, it's the little details that can make or break a build...in this case, VERY little!

Quite honored, my friend, coming from one of the masters...I have made some progress on the build, been fiddling with the cranes, (1/700 PE crane hooks...jeez!), I replaced the original ships boats with a set of super detailed white metal beauties from Paper Lab as well...
The Vallejo water came out SUPER, I can't say enough good about the stuff, first time I ever used it...I'll get some images up soon, thanks for all of the positive words, mates!

It's been a while, mates....a loooooooong while since I had a moment to dust off the dining room workbench and actually fiddle a bit with a few of the multiple projects left lonely...

I'm STILL working on this old girl, my ASR-12 Penguin from my mate Harry Abbott at Battlefleet Models...here is an updated pic with some rigging and a little waterworks, I've got a LONG way to go to completion though!
Lot's more to do on the scene overall, mates...weathering, details, and water effects....
Steady as I go.......................

A star is born, and great bravery for giving us your part by part account of the build, well worth all the pain. And, a great addition to your onging fleet.
Also, that water effect really worked well, I shall give it a try myself.
Best wishes,
Peter F
