LOL !! When I read the subject title, I immediately thought " Oh, great ! Kenny has come out with a new product for ship rigging." I guess not, but (hint, hint) a 1/700 type product might not be a bad idea...just saying.

 I don't know if I am going to be able to participate in this one, although I'd love to. As an ol' jar-head, amphib assault is right up my alley. Time, though, is really tight right now. But I sure will be watching this with great interest. Have a geat Campaign !
Cheers,
Mike

You're killing me Mike! I've tried to train spiders, but they just won't listen.
I got the last piece of the puzzle yesterday. I'll be building a 1/72 LCM(3) with Academy's 3/4 ton ambulance as cargo.

I’d hate to think that an armor guy would be the first to post his start in the campaign but;

This my parts list for the Italeri LVT (2) I am building for the campaign; Major kit is the Italeri
Then 3 Eduard sets, Floor Plates, Louver Bulkhead, LVT 2 Update

Trakz armor update

And Hard Corps Models “Doodles” Transfers

I was off to a slow start due to combining instructions but this was my final progress for the weekend;

Looking forward to more startups;
Bob

 Sorry just noticed that there is a gallery for photos, did you want me to use that for my photos or just my final ones?

Bob,
Nice start. It is OK if an armor guy gets out of the blocks early, somebody has to do it. It is nice to see some cross overs for this GB. Looking forward to your progess.

Yes you can. There is a "In Progress" folder you can put your photos.

Wow! this has been a sobbering day for me.
While doing research for this campaine I went to the Infantry Museum at Ft Benning for some info, and while I was there I met 2 young Troopers ready to go to Iraq.
They glorified war and made it sound like a video game, I have 4 combat tours and I didnt even give advice!
Thank God we have Troops like this, and my prayers go with them.

Well, ship builders have to raise steam before we can engage the engines.

What happened to those good old days of Gas Turbines?

 And yes I did send some weekend warriors down for a bucket of steam.

Very cool post, Rui. A compact scene that says a lot.

Thanks Karl
I only hope this small dio serves as a motivator/teaser for the other entrants!
So, my entry will be this:

 Don't know yet how the layout will be, but probably will not use all the crafts included in the box.
One of our club members (AMA - Almada's Modeling Association) some years ago made this:

 but I am not going to replicate it or make another beach head diorama like the LST one (you have to keep making "new" things!)

I'll have to try and finish my "TinCan around the world" entry before attempting to start anything else though

 Cheers,
Rui

Rui, I'm looking forward to more!

This is going to be one of those last minute campaigns for me, but I'm still locked in for the JMSDF Shimokita.

Hi Bruce - I guess you are hitching to get one of these, right?

I have it for a long time, bought at a LHS cheap - back then these DML/Dragon sets were cheap.
You can check ebay, sometimes they pop-up at a reasonable price, other times they go too expensive... so, my advice is: pay attention!
Let's see what comes out of this

My wild guess is: a Gator Navy Dio
Cheers and continue your recovery

Hi Dade!
Thanks, but has I said to Bruce, there are some things first

I understand perfectly your "pain", but the Shimokita is a good modern choice (big and full of potential for a compact action scene, as there are already some in our MOD's).

Bruce- Carpet monster 2, me -1 I'll find that other one if it kills me.
This is what I have so far,

That Louvre bulkhead was a snap to put together and looks great.

And then all together.  Moving along;

No seabats on this puppy.
Thanks for looking and good luck on your builds,
Bob

 Might as well add on what I completed this afternoon;

I know it's not perfect but after 2 hours of cutting and grinding I got it to fit! It's an old Verlinden update kit I had hidden away for the LVT (A)1.

And I also placed the floor grates.

hello Bob,
the carpet monster just loves parts.i found a part for my Tiger 1 build 22 feet away from my work bench.good luck finding the other part.maybe you need to feed the carpet monster with some extra spruce and it might give the lost part back.

 thanks for the update,your build is looking great.
cheers,

Nice work Bob.
This is what I have in mind:
A Normandy LCM(3)...

Carrying a 3/4 Ambulance...

With corpsman...

All in 1/72 scale.
