Daniel, your work is amazing. I would love to find plans for an aircraft carrier that I will like to have in 1/144 scale. Since there are good number of 1/144 scale aircrafts. Keep up the good work because it's very inspiring...makes me think I too can do it.

Daniel,
Thank you very much! This'll be a huge help. I'm still trying to figure out the running gear (1/25th Panther won't work). It looks like I'm going to be going with 1/16th King Tiger gear. Oh boy.
However, with this...I can start getting the plastic card I'll need and work on the top of this beastie.

Looks like the turret, without guns, will be 35.1 cm in length (or roughly 14 inches).

 Again, thank you!

Hi Mike,
check this photos too I think that it will give you much better idea about the detials of the turret, also google this name for graphic: "Austrått Fort"
http://www.westernwarshipcombat.com/gallery/album53/Back_of_Turretand here you have plenty of details too

Daniel,
Not to hijack, but I need a little more detail. The picture below shows four points I need the diameters for (A-D). A is the end of the barrel, B is where the outer barrel slips into the inner barrel, C is the 'end' of the inner barrel, and D is 'inside' the turret (or as close as you can get). Going to see about a CAD drawing being done then either having the barrels "3D printed" or turned using aluminum stock.

Many, many thanks!
Mike

p.s. Wojtek, I like the video...haven't seen that before.

Well my friend Mike, my cannons has 3 sections.....

a- 2,35 mm
b- 2,60 mm distance a -b = 24,65 mm
c- 3,05 mm
d- 3,75 mm distance c- d = 17,39 mm
e- 4,40 mm
f- 4,85 mm distance e - f = 4,5 mm
f - g 4,85 mm distance f - g = 4 mm
total barrel large = 50,30 mm

Be careful !
The 28 cm. guns of the 'Deutschland' class armored-ships were different from the 28 cm. guns of the 'Scharnhorst' class battle-cruisers.

Hi Daniel.
I am not normally a rivet counter but those gun barrels don't look like the ones in the photo of the Graf Spee. The part nearest the tuet looks too long to me. That is the largest diameter part og the barrel is much shorter in the photo..
