First its the first ... Ernie , Keith , Julian , Joe , Kev and Lone Many, thankto All for the comments.
This gives desire of continuing forward with this Slippery Wolf. As I was saying to them ... U 530 deliver in Mar del Plata "Argentina" after 2 months of navigation with Snorkel ... the whole record!!! There is presumed that it was forming a part of a great convoy of Wolves transporting secrets, booties of war and to his high Grals.... Hitler probably?? Mmmm
I am expecting to receive the last book of my good friend " Julio M Butti " investigative author of these facts..
Well, speaking about record navigation with Snorkel ....... Im employed at it.
Cheers Daniel

Too bad that the US would destroy such an example of an uncommon U Boat type and configuration. Very interesting about the 2 month silent running scenario to Argentina. There was something more to it for certain. I wonder what was really in that ship. Reminds me of U234 and it's secret cargo destined to Japan.

Thanks Ernie ....Yes, ultimately after his surrender it was confiscated by the US Navy and taken for his entire review and interrogation of his crew. Documents even classified until 2020!!
Today there is sunk by torpedoes of the USS Toro (SS-422) in exercises in 1947 in Cape Cod USA. ......
Uffff the U-234 .... another interesting chapter of the WWII his shipment of uranium end up by being spread in Ngasaki and Hiroshima ....... USA with his project Manhattan had never managed to have so much uranium in so short time without this shipment!!!! ........

A very intriguing subject here Daniel, I'll have to try and find an English version of this book. I wonder what sort of shady deal was made behind the scenes in this case

Aaaa my friend, I see that puncture you U 234 ... jejejjeje
In my opinion one of the keys by the end of the war.
This wolf if that was of the big ones .... it was a type XB of 90 meters of length!! A miner transformed to cargo-boat of long scope
Here leave a movie you to enjoy with a cold beer.

Just caught up with this build again and saw the hull conversion. I immediately thought about one of my favorite books, Shadow Divers, which was written about wreck divers John Chatterton and Richie Kohler and their famous discovery and dive on U-869. Richie Kohler had a model commissioned of that boat and he has a nice collection of photos. If you haven't read the book or seen the special it's worth spending some time doing so. Check out Rickie's web site...

Nice work on the structure of the storage bay Daniel. What is the "railway track" on the deck used for, (at least it looks like a set of tracks)

Thank you Julian, yes is a rail. In the rectangular back gratings (4), they were stores of torpedoes. They were mounted in car and taken by the rail up to the hatch of re load. they were mounting a tripod with pulleys. Hard and dangerous work realized in surface. in general load in the night. I had to remove the assembly of the flak of 105 and make the space clean for 4 containers of the lifeboats ....... near challenge!!!
