Got up this morning and I wasn't as happy . . . so further touches

The white foam has beeen picked out in pure white

The aerated water from props has been picked out in paler/greener blue

I've used acrylic structure gel to give more bulk to the foam and tiny wavlets over the sea. Tried it before and it acted like self levelling compound, I guess because of the heat so base and gel went in fridge ;o)

Happier now until tomorrow morning lol

Thanks for looking, hope its looking better

Cheers Kev

Great stuff Kev,

The wake is really excellent, as is the work on tubes, and all of it really.

Hello Kev, I liked your original effort, except around the edges of the wake. It looked a little too 'ragged' to me. The second one looks better I think, more realistic. However, if you combine the look of the second with the first, I think you have a winner. Al

Hi Kev,
nice work on the portholes, (you will grow new fingertips ). The transom looks "handsome". Can't wait to see some paint being put on.
Cheers,

Ok mate, will give it a try with a few more posts

As I'm sure you can imagine the Airfix aerials leave a lot to be desired, here is my attempt at Type 253 IFF transponder

Dimensions 10mm x 2.5mm diameter, made from 0.2mm wire. After trying all sorts of methods I bit the bullet and bought Carrs Solder cream . . . can't wait to try it on some photo etch.

Thanks for looking

Then went on to play with the rest of the aerials

Type 242 IFF Interrogator, Type 253 IFF Transponder & the two parts of Type 291U

If anyone is interested here is how I jigged them up

Thanks for looking

We call that a hint with a crowbar, (hint met een koevoet), here in Holland

Things seem rather quiet here though....... I might even dig up the Hornet and get around to finishing the "White elephant".

Cheers Guys
Julian dont you dare leave me in suspenses with Typhoon.

Rocket flare stowage now, the kit offering being somewhat bland !!

Of course I had to, didn't I?

Then I just had to take it a step further

I must admit I do enjoy the scratch building
Thanks for looking

Did these boats kick up 'rooster tails' from the transoms in their wakes?

Nice work on the ammo locker, tow plate and exhaust Kev. You are doing a fantastic job on this "gem from the vaults".

Thanks Julian,

Slow progress at the moment, experimenting with the hull painting trying to get it to look as it appears in my head lol

Great job Kev,

The attention to detail is first class.

How much of the original kit will be left in by the time you have finished?

Thanks Guys,

Not a lot Si, so far I've used the hull, deck, vents, gun platform and torpedo carrige but you've got to start somewhere

Engine companionway/vents sorted. I originaly thought I'd have both open, then common sense prevailed

I would of course have to have the space open. The aft one would reveal the engines . . . . not going down that road. The fwd one only reveals the forward bulkhead.

So a bit of creative 'gizmology'and we have

I can't get a pic with the canopy in place. . . . just how much can be seen . . . . not alot

I guess I will now have to do something creative iwo of crew companionway.

Thats all for now, thanks for looking

Kev

Thanks Julian.

Onto the crew access, adding a bit of detail

Note the waterproof coats are meant to be hanging at an angle because of the angle of the boat to the water

The ladder is one I had, can't really sort it until pod is glued to deck

Thanks for looking
