Yaggi Ariel added, a bit wonky from overhandling, but I will straighten that out prior to rigging.
The 4" painted & fitted.
footplates & pedestals added for the 20mm
More boats, After all those on Duke of York just done, Painting started.
started adding the carley floats, pinched some paddles from an old fret.
lashings still to be added. The foremast up. I used the white metal kit part, which is not perfect, but I want to keep this simple.
More soon.

Ahoy Simon
Really nice work on this one.
I really admire the workmanship and your ability to have two or three builds on the go at once as well.
Your time management skills are enviable.
Cheers

Thanks Sean,
Appreciate your comment.
It's not so much time management as making the use of the one or sessions a week I get in my workshop.
If I was working on one thing at a time I would spend too much time doing nothing waiting for things to dry.
Cheers

apologies, must have been really tired last evening when I posted this,
This should have been the second pic,
On with today's update, Signal halyards added.
20mm finally fitted.
and the first of the three boats on, the whaler. I need to scrounge round some old frets for some oars, and rig the davit.
Getting there.

Second boat added on the starboard side, along with the vent by the funnel ladder, and given a wash to bring out the detail.
Port side boats in place along with the torpedo handling davit.
The quarterdeck depth charge gear finished off along with the Ensign staff.
Jackstaff & anchors in place, now just railings and rigging.

Thanks Michael,
They are quite fun aren't they but worth it. I do like the quality of WEM's castings, they are clean & well fitting.

Hi Keith,
Very nearly done. I use copper wire, stripped out of old electrical cables for rigging (Mostly because it's free). Seriously I like it, it may be slightly overscale, but on long horizontal aerial runs you do get that gentle sag you would see on the real thing, and it can be bent into shape for boat falls and other running rigging.

Kev, Thank you, the M class are impressive looking ships, which helps.
Thanks Julian, I am more than a little happy with the progress on this.
Cheers Jan, I do have a bit of thing about detail on open bridges, and getting some detail on them, does add that little extra depth.
Thanks Dave, I hope I am proving that there is no voodoo to building something like this, and that handling etch is not rocket science, just a matter of practice, just like everything else in our great hobby.
Got a bit further today, will update shortly
really appreciate the support
