Thanks Sean and Jan, still more work to do on the England, she's not done yet.

Any way here's the rest of the name plates I have so far:

They still have the protective film on but you get the idea, and it identifies some of whats on the bench

Ahoy Luciano

These are really great I really love the U-Boat ones.

You clearly have a very busy "slipway".

Cheers

Thanks Sean, I've tried to keep each nation a separate colour and also one that is sort of linked to that nation within the limits of the colours available.
So British - white
German - black
American - pale blue
Russian/Soviet - red
Dutch - copper (near to orange as I could get)

Anyway heres some progress, the Z-17 from Zvezda which will also get Eduard Kriegsmarine railings and doors plus inclined ladders from Mk.1 design.

Indeed a very nice idea with the nameplates, I like them, too.

And the Z 17 - very nice, could you show some more pictures? I am very interested in this one since it is the only model of the 'older type' 1936 (as compared to 'Narvik Zerstörer 1936 A...' types that are flooding the market.... (would love to see a 1934 destroyer sometime...)

Thank you Julian.

Well Jan, as you asked here are some more photos of the Z-17 as I have done some more today on him.
Added pe doors and inclined ladders, tided up the paint work and have given it a wash, started to add railings from a generic Kriegsmarine set so it measure and cut. Motor boats added and the two row boats are almost ready, then its the mines and rigging.

Name plate is now on the base but still has its protective film cover.

Couple of little update photos of the Z-17, a bit more railing, ships boats and half of the mines added.

Can I get it finished this weekend?
I have a show the following weekend but will have no time next week to work on it

Well except for rigging for which I thought I had some material but didn't I'm calling the Z-17 finished.

First dealing with dodgers for the AA platform, none of my railing sets would work so cut some paper the same height as the railings folded at the corners and soaked with thinned PVA.

Hmm... I'll take some better photo's tomorrow during the day with my camera rather than the phone camera.

OK with the Z-17 out the way pending rigging an old friend has returned from dry dock to be finished, the U-1023.

So there's not that much to do mainly just pe, so with my slightly better knowledge of dealing with pe I set to it, here's where the U-1023 now stands. Oh I've added a wash already although it's not complete and there are still a few things left to add so it should be finished tomorrow.

OK with not much to do the Type VIIC/41 is finished.

Next to move to dry dock from the slipway is the Surcouf.

Ahoy Luciano

U-1023 looks great.

I love the separately displayed torpedo. Very innovative.

Of course the nameplate is the finishing touch.

Cheers

Thank you Sean, I think a 1/350 5" shell with the Z-17 might be a bit much although.....

Hey Luciano,

I like both, the sub and the destroyer!! Very nice work! And thanks for sharing some more pictures of Z 17!
Btw - it's using the same (or very similar) torpedoes as the sub...maybe a bit better to actually see than a 1/350 5" shell

Thank you Simon, I hope that someone brings out a dedicated PE set for you rather than piecing together bits and bobs like I did.

Just an update I found out there should be a searchlight on the platform behind the aft funnel and none are provided in the kit so an order has gone in for some KM AM searchlights from Veteran Models once they arrive I'll correct that missing searchlight and railing. I did wonder why you just get a blank platform, should have looked harder at the pictures I found of the ship.

Don't know if your attending any shows but it will be at the Farnborough show this Saturday and then at Telford.

Ok not much of an update, I attended a show on Saturday where I started work on the Trumpy HMS Eskimo using the WEM upgrade set - pe, replacement boats, screws and quad pom-pom's. So after drilling and bracing the mounting holes it was time to fit the deck, WEM tell you how to correct the shear by not gluing part of the foc'sle waiting for the glue to set then lifting the deck 3mm so this is what I did. So the photo is at this stage but after I have filled the gap with plasticard and added a first coat of filler, another coat of filler awaits then the re-profile of the tip of the bow. The rear structure is only placed on but the funnels have been fitted.

If your wondering that MDF item in the background is my little travel work bench.

Wow a month since my last update and a visit to the bench, I've been really busy at work but now have a couple of days off, so with that last night and today have seen progress on the Eskimo.

Well its been a while but some progress has been made on Eskimo and don't photos show were paint needs touch up.

As inspiration I have photos of Eskimo after loosing her bow at Narvik on my computer screen, I'm building Eskimo as she was in the battle before she lost her bow, so a back date of the Trumpeter kit.

The last photo is one of the WEM upgrade quad .50 Vickers they released just before folding, it's a combined resin and pe little kit. Need to make one for the other side and a pair of twin Lewis for the bridge wings. Still plenty to do.
