OK a little bit of progress on the Benson just small fittings, plus the Eskimo has come back to the bench for some paint now that I have the Lifecolor sets.

Luciano,

The camo scheme on the Benson looks great. Looking forward to seeing further progress.

Thanks guys, not much done today just mainly paint touch up on Eskimo, fitted the torpedo tubes, Y mount gun house and the foremast. A few items on the sprues got some paint in prep for fitting. Getting closer to finish.

Rest of the time has been taken doing research on the Nasty Asty and finding photos. She took one hell of a pounding!

Good work Luiciano,

The Eskimo and the Benson have certainly come on since Southern Expo.

Cheers

Thanks Si

A small bit of work has been done on the Eskimo, mainly the small detail stuff, the first bits of railing and getting the pe ready including those tiny twin Lewis guns

The white band needs some touch up

Some of the pe blackened a mix of kit and WEM parts, the Lewis guns by the knife blade tip (from the WEM Flower class set).

Coming on nicely Luciano,

Those Lewis guns look like they are going to be fun.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks Si, should have mentioned that I'm off to a show this weekend in the West Country which I'll be making a weekend of, when I get back I go straight back onto night shifts so there'll be no up dates for over a week.

Eskimo and Benson will go to the show with me together with my finished ships as I like to show my work in progress on our club stand. I may start another destroyer while at the show but it may be a cruiser just getting the hull together as a head start for the cruiser campaign.

Thanks guys.

Well I've not been at the bench much the last couple of weeks so no photos of Benson or Eskimo however with a small local show Saturday (tomorrow) I thought I'd get something started, so here's the 1/350 type VIIc that I started today. Still some work to do at the show but almost finished!

I'm also taking my first big ship to start on together with the Mk 1 DX set

Back from the show and no purchases!

Made a start on the Warspite, hull together nice fit just some tidy up along the hull bottom seam. main components of the turrets and bridge structure together while the deck has been cleaned up ready for the wood replacement deck and pe fittings. Everything is just placed for effect.

The four brass items are field piles used in archery and are normally fitted on the end of the arrow, I'm going to see if with a hole drilled through them and a bit of piano wire inserted they will work as pedestals.

Oh the typ VIIc is finished, just need to find a suitable base.

Good stuff going on their Luciano,

The U Boat looks excellent, a real bit of etch engineering.

Looking forward to seeing more of the Warspite.

Cheers.

Wow almost a year to the day since my last update here.

In the time since my last up date aircraft, armour and a few Star Wars things have been past my bench but I feel the call of the sea again so with my subs under way I looked around my stash and was drawn to a 1/700 kit, a scale that I thought I'd not build again but hey.

So out of the stash came the Kombrig HMS Conqueror and a base that's been sitting there for years waiting for the right subject. Now Conqueror looked a bit lost on the base so looking at the stash again out came the Kombrig HMS Invincible and HMS Cumberland, I don't know if these three ships would ever have anchored together but they were all around in the same time period, so a little poetic license. Any way the composition photo.

Think I'm going to enjoy this build
Oh I'll be getting some brass masts

Very interesting looking trio Luciano.

Those 1/700th combrig kits are really well cast, hope you enjoy them, will be watching for updates.

Cheers

Thanks Si, they are very nice kits, thinking of this as a dry run for the 1/350 Kent.

Any way found there was a Spithead fleet review in July 1914 just before the war started so that is what this aims to be even if the ships themselves would not have been anchored next to each other.

So some clean up (not a lot needed) was done and primer sprayed on the main parts, parts dry fitted to test fit and for effect. I'll be getting some figures (imperial Russian) from Northstar and intend to have an Admirals barge in the water somewhere.

Hope you like the idea but open to ideas and suggestions.

Nice work Luciano,

The trio are coming on very nicely.

I hope you enjoy 1/350th Kent as much as I did.

Cheers

Thanks Si.

HMS Cumberland coming along, deck and hull painted, bridge almost ready just need to fit the small details first.

HMS Invincible coming along a step or two behind Cumberland, hull and main deck painted.

No photo of Conqueror as no progress has been made yet beyond primer coat of the main parts.

Oh base has been primed and painted black ready for some sea.

Watching with interest.

Real life has kept me out of the workshop this weekend.

Cheers

Very nice Christian, however I don't see what that has to do with my WWI ships or the subs.
