The Indy is almost done. I will post photos as soon as I'm available to. Needs railings and rigging and a final clear coat

Photos as promised. As it stands right now I have the kit airplane to finish and some small details such as practice loaders. Installed the photo etch railings and the railings around gun number 1 were tricky. For those tackling this kit, pay close attention to where the supports go. This is also my first attempt at rigging. I know it isn't historically correct but it serves its purpose. The left hand thread is frayed because I didn't think to run the thread over a candle flame to burn off the little hairs. I originally figured I could clear coat the thread and this would take care of the problem. Much to my disappointment it did not. Lesson learned. Enough rambling here are the pictures.

Enjoy, and as always criticism is welcome.

Looks great Norman, the rigging certainly looks the part.

Good luck with the final details.

Thanks for the reminder, Si!

Great work on here everyone. I'm finally getting close. Getting married and moving into a new house has predictably kept the San Diego in the drydock.

I just need to finish the water, railings, rigging and weathering. Ugh. The hardest thing right now is just trying to find paint, tools, etc/ since my new work room isn't set up yet.

Here are some pics of the status of the ship and the room. Hopefully, I'll get this done in a week, and be fully up and running by Christmas.

Can see who's the boss in that workshop

On a serious note, Anybody who has finished, but nor posted in the Gallery, only a few days left.

I am assuming there are no other calls for an extension.

Cheers

Si

I would ask for an extension but it would like one of those calls "of we'll be home by Christmas". I will post where I got to shortly but it's well short of completion.

Cheers

So this is how she looks.

Still the entire front superstructure to be built and since the ship changed substantially from launch to late 1917 a front amount to scratch build.

I am sorry I didn't finished in time for the campaign but I started too late and this kit and the configuration I chose proved more challenging than I thought.

There are some great builds in the gallery so well done to those who completed.

cheers
Michael

Hello all,
Been lurking since I finished my San Francisco; got to say these have been some very impressive models! Congratulations to everyone who finished up as well as to everyone who gave it their best.
Si,
Do I need to post my finish photo in the gallery? If so; which gallery in particular? I didn't see anything that jumped out at me and said "here!"

Cheers,
Rick Cooper

Sorry guys,
Keep trying to upload images either into my own gallery or the campaign gallery to no avail. Keeps telling me that my image(s) have uploaded successfully but nothing ever shows up. Don't know what else to do. If anyone has a suggestion I am all ears.
Cheers,
Rick Cooper

Done! Mostly. The rigging I bought turns out to be way too thin. So, I'll have to wait on that part. Otherwise, I'm really happy with it - considering the pretty awful base model to start from.

Any tips or constructive criticism is always welcomed! Now, I'm going to try and get these in the gallery.

That's a great build of the Varyag.
Are you going to add some rigging to the masts? It would make look even better.

cheers
