*** UPDATE ***
Once the portholes received their glasses with Micro Krystal Klear, I have added the wooden deck to the maindeck. The whole deck will receive some washings with oilcolors (brown, black and white). On the pictures you could see it in it’s new conditions….

Next Stepp – the superstructure starts with the funnel. The funnel received some catwalks, handrail and ladders on the inside, the four pipes were drilled open on the top. A cleaning of the seams etc. on the inside of the funnel-wall comes next.
On the outside the funnel received some first pipes and etched parts too… some more to come ..

Cheers
Micha

*** UPDATE ***
The first floors of the main super structure follows next. First the two big parts were glued together and the portholes drilled open. Then the doors were replaced with photo etched ones, further etched parts followed.
As it won't make any difference in painting I have glued the bridge and the funnel already in their places and added further plastic- and etched parts.
Further details will follow in the front area now. At the rear the details and further parts of the structure follow later as there comes a wooden deck part first, after the painting.

Cheers
Micha

Hello,
some new pictures of my Nelson ...

More details at the front of the superstructure. Some more etched parts, some plastic parts... as far as the mounting is possible before painting.
At the back - the further parts of the superstructure follow after the painting (these parts havee to be painted separately). The wooden deck needs to be mounted before ...
Further details, armory, handrails, ... will follow later.
A black primer as first step of the painting followed,... now a bit sanding for a smooth surface, then grey follows ....

Cheers
Micha

Hello,
after the black primer was dried I have sprayed Tamiya's "Royal Navy Grey" in thin layers on the structure. Only thin layers to keep the black primer shinig through.
A washing with black oil colors on the walls and on the decks followed. The traces of running water from the vertical areas were added at the same time with small dots of black oil color.
After that - the wooden deck was glued in place and washed with white and black oil colors.

Now a layer with matt/shiny clear coat follows, then painting the details, glazing the windows. Then further parts of the structure at the backside follow..
Cheers
Micha
