Michael,
I must admit I found that black primer a bit shocking, but with the Tamiya Royal Navy Grey overspray it now looks just right!

Hi Micha!
I've been away from your build here for a couple of weeks due to leave and other business - your superstructure looks splendid!! Awesome work, and the color effects you are achieving look marvelous!
Looking forward to see your Nelson grow!!

Hello.
the small boats are finished now. Some boats received the plastic deck, from others the super structure was removed and sanded smooth.
The super structure was built new with photo etched parts, others received etched decks and details, oars, railings and other details...
The boats will be primered in black next, then painted in Royal Light Grey. The lower side of the boats hull will become painted in hull red, the decks in wooden brown, the super structure as well as the upper area of the inside of the hulls in white. Then the boats will be installed on the decks, fixed with rope.
Cheers

Hello,
The small boats were painted next. I have chosen some light grey for the complete hull of the flat boats, red/dark grey for the bigger ones. The decks wooden brown, the structure in white.
After a weathering with dark oil color washs I have "glased" the windows and glued the boats on the maindecks....
The radars follow next....
Cheers

Looking good Micha
I have a query though: Weren't Nelson's decks painted a darker grey than the rest of the superstructure, AP507A?

The first radars were glued together... some very small and ugly etched parts later...... still two more to go ... very fiddly .... no fun ...

G'day Michael. I'm new to this game and just joined the site. I am building HMS Nelson 1:200 also. Fascinated by your detailed approach. Is it Okay if I ask questions? For instance where did you find the Brass portholes and eye-brows.....and do you intend to allow the brass to shine through on some?
