Multiple projects, means I am not waiting for paint or glue to dry, always got something else to do.

The rigging is my usual, copper wire, rolled straight and fixed with cyno.

Destroyers are my favourite ships to build, they are sleek and powerful looking ships.

The etched nameplates are really nice, and easy to deal with, paint brown, wash with a darker brown, or black, and a quick gentle scrape with a knife blade and job done.

Am pleased with the progress to date, (considering the extra work done and the boundaries pushed)

Fo'c's'le railings. The WEM set provides additional lengths of railing shaped to fit a rebuilt bow.

The maindeck railings were in one long length, to make the easier to handle I cut them in half.

Jack staff, the kit moulding was odd to the say the least, and the etch lacked roundness, so the was scratcbuilt from a scrap etched jackstaff and some brass rod.



The ensign staff had to be scratchbuilt, not one in the kit, and the one on the WEM fret was not correct for a central depth charge rack, brass rod to the rescue.



And the ensign hoisted.



HMS Cossack commissioned.











End result, despite it's faults this is quite a nice kit. That it is, it you are prepared to fix the bow, replace the incorrect pompom and boats.

Bottom line, I will build one or two more od these. I do have the WEM kit in the stash, but there are so many variations of colour scheme and weapon's fit!

Congratulations on commissioning of your HMS Cossack, she's a wonderful model!! And it was once more a pleasure and lots of fun to follow your build log!

I have to crack one of my Tribals sometime soon, as well - and should I get a hand on a second WEM set, I think I'll go for it...

May I suggest that you don't have and empty slipway there any longer? Could be occupied by a German 1934A type destroyer...

Si, just catching up on your build after taking a break from ships and catching up on some of the other builds. Looking at your build and those North star parts (I have some on order) they certainly bring the bridge to life, noticed you had it easy with Cossack having 20mm's in the bridge wings Eskimo had twin Lewis in hers and in this scale they are tiny. With all that once the bench is clear Eskimo will make a return to the slipway giving us two Narvik Tribals once shes finished.

Well impressed with the North star bridge details, well cast and so easy to use, even the small etch, the folds beautifully half etched.

Am tempted to do a damaged Eskimo, sans bow, there is a couple of great photos around, and you loose the bow, the boats were landed, and trimmed by the stern, so that only leaves the Pompom that needs curing.

A future mad project... maybe,
