Si,
Your Gannet is coming together nicely, looks like you are on track to finish by May!
Do we have a Gallery page for the campaign yet?
Thanks Tim,
I hope so, started decaling today, hope to get a bit further tomorrow.
I couldn't fine done either, will PM Todd. Apologies, been a bit pre-occupied with some family issues, have not been doing my job as campaign leader properly.
Cheers

Just in case any of you were wondering if XF-60 Dark Yellow is the same as XF-78 Wooden Deck Tan, they are not. Grabbed the wrong bottle!

Good luck sorting it.

Thanks Mark,
The decals were decent quality, even so, a little bit of microset (or similar) and Tamiya flat clear out of a rattle can does a lot for the finish.
Cheers

I couldn't find my last update, sometime last year but I have restarted Enterprise but with no hope of getting it done on time.
But I have finished what will be the Air Group for the ship.

56 planes in total. Don't know what they will look like on the flight deck since I haven't got that far yet. Should fit, if not I can always push some overboard.
cheers
Michael

Loaded images of my Reagan, Illustrious, and Wasp in the gallery. Many thanks to you, Si! This campaign motivated me to finish Reagan after being stalled for quite some time, and then start and finish Lusty and Wasp to clear some space in the stash!

Well done Thomas bringing 3 to completion. I know I won't make the finish line of June 1st but I am determined to finish Big E so will build on.
cheers

With another month's work, I might make it so the Akagi has moved out of dry-dock and into my shipyard once more.

The foredeck has been finally glued on. Some more Linoleum Brown to be added along the sides or the hull then the front of the superstructure will be added. After getting that put in (with some help from putty), the other guns, AA guns, boats can be added.

The big thing left is painting the stripes on the flight deck and elevators. Lots of masking will be involved.
I might still make it.

Gary,
Nice progress. One thing about that kit is if you can spend a few hours straight working it, it will be 90% done. I was amazed at how quickly the 3 deck Akagi went together for me.

So I guessed this campaign has finished.
Thanks to Si for organising it. I am sorry I didn't complete Enterprise, but it was a bigger beast than I imagined.
Congratulations to all those who got to the finishing line.
cheers

Ditto what Michael said. Many thanks to Si! Without this campaign, I'm sure my Reagan would still be on the shelf and Wasp and Illustrious still unopened in their boxes. Thanks to all for the encouragement to keep building!

Sooooooooo....
What's happening with this campaign? There are a few builds that never updated halfway through or never really got started at all, no one asked for extensions, and no one's acknowledging the official end of the campaign a few weeks ago? Is this campaign (stupid pun intended) dead in the water?

Yes, gentlemen, the FLATTOPS campaign did indeed finish on June 1.
I e-mailed Si a week after the end of the campaign about wrapping it up but haven't received any response. Since two weeks have now elapsed and Si remains indisposed, I have gone ahead and issued awards to the finishers.
Thank you to the 23 participants, and congratulations to the 5 finishers - and most of all, thank you Si for your excellent work in organizing this campaign!

I just recently found out that this thread exists...I had posted to the other (original?) page instead!

Thanks to Mike and Tim for linking me here, thanks to Si for organizing the campaign (and for still giving me credit for my misplaced build), and now I have to read through these pages and see all the excellent work!
Cheers to a great group build

Hi Guys, many apologies for going AWOL right at the end of this campaign, but some serious family stuff just put this out of my mind.
Big thanks to Tim for filling the breech, and well done to all who finished.
Cheers
