Very nice, Si

Thanks Russ,

I do like the smaller escorts, somewhat ignored by the kit manufacturers up until recently.

Cheers

Si,

You are making fine progress with this kit. Glad to see you closing the gap with the deck and superstructure with white glue. Never notice it once you paint.

Thanks Mark.

It is one small flaw in this kit, the superstructure parts not sitting right in the depressions moulded in the hull for them, he white glue seemed a simple solution. As I will have matt coat the model to seal the decals, that should hide the problem.

The weekend's progress.

Railings on the foredeck.

And ladders down on to the maindeck.

Depth charge reloads and throwers, very nicely cast.

Painted and washed to bring out the detail.

The first set, along with some quarterdeck detail parts down.

More soon.

Cheers

Nice progress Si, as you may have seen (Look what the tide washed up: post) mine arrived couple of weeks back so I've been making notes on your build. Some way off from starting as there's two US destroyers and a couple of subs on the slips at the moment.

Not sure yet as which too build mine as but thinking the Greek Miaoulis L91.

Thanks Luciano,

I had seen, nice to know this kit is selling. There are such a variety of colour schemes, this might not be my only hunt.

Appreciate you looking in mate.

Saw that too Mate,

I have the River class, and have built an Algerine. I like what Mike and the boys at L'Arsenal are doing right now.

I had seen the Loch, but no the Bay or the Grimsby.

Thanks for the advice.

This week's progress.

All the depth charge throwers and ready use reload in place.

Racks built up and place, very nice they are too.

All the depth charge gear and smoke pots too.

The ship's boats painted, well nearly, the motor boat still needs a wash, they both require rudders and the pulling boat oars.

The etched Davits in place.

More soon.

Si

Si,

The stern looks like it means business to any submarine, great work with the PE again.

Thanks Mark,

This kit has one of the best representations of depth charge gear I have seen in kit form.

(Please excuse the poor grammar, but it is Sunday morning ).

The weekend's progress.

After Carley floats fitted.

I found some suitable oars for the whaler, but only four, there should be six - overall looks busy enough.

Comparison between the kit high angle director (cream resin) and the North star part (grey resin).

I have decided to attach the North star director to the kit pedestal.

The director with basic paint job and wash.

More soon.

Cheers

Si

They do that Mark,

One a small ship like this an open director like that is quite prominent, and whilst the kit part is quite good it is a little bland.

Cheers

They are that Russ, they are great for open directors, and a touch with some wash brings up a lot of detail.

again, missed out on a lot of your progress, but that's beautiful work on this little ship. And the NorthStar stuff looks really great!

Thank you Jan,

Very kind of you to say so. The kit parts are very usable, but the level of detail in eye catching areas, like the pompom and the director, makes the North Star replacements a must use to me.

The after gun mount, this is the kit parts, very nice indeed.

and in place.

An overview of the old girl so far.
