It is a subchaser - although it may be hard to identify as a specific type once reduced to ribbon size!

The tartane is looking great Richard!
Tim , I like the ribbon but as you suggest what does it look like in "ribbon"? It maybe easier just to use the heading "Below 1000 tons"
cheers

FYI, here's what Tim's proposal looks like ribbon-sized:

Thanks Michael for the ribbon-sized view! The illustration is still recognizably a boat, but the "BELOW 100 TONS" is hard to read.

How would this version with larger letters appear in ribbon size?

Agree, the one that says < 1000 Tons.
It's easier to read.

Im in with Trumpeters 1/144 scale LCM(3)!

I just ordered a bagged kit with no box on e-Bay for less than ten bucks, so Im not sure what is going to arrive... but it looks to be a fun, quick build!

Hi guys,
Finally got a chance to update my lifeboat build. I've been working on the hull. The fit is pretty good. My oil wash didn't happen. My oil paint tube was a solid block. So I went with several enamel washes using Model Master Burnt Umber. The washes don't show very well in the photos.

The hull exterior has good planking represented. The hull interior is smooth, but as can be seen from the photos there is very little of the hull interior visible. Still seeing some shine after a coat of Testor's Dullcoat. Will hit it again at the end of the build,
I'm starting work on the mast and yard next.
Keep it up guys.
John

Hi John!
Your lifeboat is looking good! That wash worked out just fine. I look forward to seeing the mast and yard come together!
best,
Tim
