Tom, imagine what they called us over in OceanView, running out when the tide went out and scooping them up off the beach.... :-)

Dave, PLEASE! This is a FAMILY site!
:-) :-) :-) Were you there long ago enough to remember Ocean View Amusement Park? It lasted into the early 70's as I used to go over there in High School as well as college. They actually made a movie in which the demolition of the roller coaster was filmed and rolled into to plot!

OK, mates, so what do you think about an early fall start date for this group build? Maybe Septemberish??
Or would we like to wait a while longer? Let's talk it over...

September is fine with me, but let's not rule out a spring start. My reason being, that folks like Tom who are engaged with campaigns and builds just for the heck of it..
Do people still do that? :-) can still participate in this group build and not feel pressured to make a decision if they have the time to participate.
Just my two cents.

Tom, We (meaning the guys from my engineering space, there were 10 of us) rented a beach house there for our at home in-port period each year. (Kind of like a frat house for the Navy).... Of course I remember the amusement park. I lived on the roller coaster and beer..... with some times the beer deciding to leave at the wrong time .... excessive beer intake and roller coasters aren't perfect together :-)
Back in those days, the rent didn't run us more than 15 bucks a month each, of course it wasn't the Trump Palace, but was a place for the 3 things sailors are famous for... :-) :-) :-) (only enlisted men, officers always had to be gentlemen you know..... :-) ) Every once in a while a few of the old "Engineering Mustangs" would stop by to let their hair down when we threw our "Official By Invitation Only BB-Q's" normally provided with comshaw stock. Our neighbors were: on one side, a bunch of Deck Apes off of one of the tin cans, and on the other side we had Airedales from our ship.... and we actually tried to get along...... OK usually tried to get along.

In looking at the situation with Dreadnaughts and Flattops, I would strongly suggest a spring start.
