Hey Tread,
My pleasure, mate, believe me!

When you and I were talking a short while back about just such a thing, you had told me that it had been tried a few times with no success, and I thought to myself, " man, what a shame...these river rats just want to have a campaign build that they can enjoy together, and it just aint happening"...

BUT, when Dus set forth some interest in a campaign of the sort a few days ago, I felt that it "was the right time"....and here we are, knee deep in another great campaign, with lots of great building fun ahead (and hopefully we'll all learn a thing ot two, as well!)
Cheers!

Hi Mark

Yes it's progressing well so far.

Haven't started a thread on aeroscale, didn't think about it actually.
How would you tie the wingy/floaty things into a riverine campaign?

Cheers

Howdy fellas

Sorry I've been runnin' a bit 'silent' around this thread recently, but I've been a bit busy at work lately......having said that, I can also add that I haven't been absolutely idle either.

In a continuing effort to bring my BWN entry to fruition, I have been squeezing in some build time here and there on my ACUTR Campaign entry. Which just so happens to be almost identical to my Riverine Campaign entry .
I've already built 3 of the 6 P-Series pontoons I plan to build for the ACUTR Campaign, and have taken some fairly bad pictures of the process while at it. I have kept to my original commitment of keeping the entire build as absolutely ZERO investment, and ZERO modeling ingredients as well. Just as soon as I can, I will share more of the info of this build with those of you who may be following it.
And, you may get a real surprise out of some of the tools I used to get the results I did during my build....especially those of you out there who have any 'carpenter' tendencies..... ;-)

Additionally, after researching some of the early French vessels involved in the Indochina conflict, I have added some more plans for Campaign entries that do not involve a "ZERO" entry parameter....

.................which reminds me, I need to post a request that's been runnin' thru my mind lately over on the other thread.......

Tread.

Gunny,
My apologies for a dumb question. Unfortunately, I am among the computer challenged. I tried to link the Riverine banner to my profile. Apparently this majic box is extremely smarter than I, any place I can go for instructions ?

TIA for any assistance .....................................Bruce

Don't forget you're going to need plenty of "Riverine Green" for those boats. Order Colourcoats M 21.

I haven't read the rules yet, but with wingy things involved would that mean I can throw in a 35th scale Huey? It's about the only thing I've got in my unbuilt inventory right now that is Viet Nam era. My budget is fixing to get blown tomorrow when I finally get around to picking up my HMS Hood.

Hi Steve

Yep, Huey would be applicable. Might be a good idea to have a look at Kenny's link further up the thread on the seawolves, the unit used Hueys.
Don't forget to sign up

Howdy blaster76,

Your entry of a Huey sounds like a great idea........maybe you could toss a Riverine-based landing pad underneath it as well?.......

Which actually lites an idea in my head............hmmmmmmm........gotta think about this.....

Alright, I've got my 1/48 swift boat on order. I've seen many photos of the swift boat in OD, so I'm pumped. I'll get some resin .50 cals and I'll be set to go.

Howdy Kenny

Can't wait to see your Swift Boat bud. Almost picked up one of those some time ago on the clearance table at a LHS back in Colorado...kicked myself ever since for chokin' and not getting it. And, to add salt to the wound, it was marked down to only $8.99!!...........

Anyway, look forward to yours.

Ya know, the only real downside of this upcoming Campaign is; that's it's "upcoming"........this waiting around for the start date is {I must confess} a little annoying.
But, rules are rules I guess.

Tread.

Hey gator.....what, no masks intended for your Swift?

I know Tread, but we've got the Military Small Craft campaign coming up real quick. I've got the CSS David waiting in the slip ways. I'm pumped for this one too.
