Ever wanted to re-create Doolittle's raid? Well Trumpeter is giving you your chance to fill the flight-deck of the CV-8 Hornet with B-25's and all in 1:350 scale! They also have a few kits that will please Gulf War era builders.

Trumpeter is releasing several new US Navy ships from the WWII era. The first is one that excites me a bit. A 1:350 scale CV-8 Hornet. The Hornet, a 19,800 ton Yorktown class aircraft carrier, had a short but illustrious career in the Pacific theater. Her first major note in history was the infamous Doolittle raid, recently featured in the film "Pearl Harbor". She was also a major combatant in the Battle of Midway and Guadalcanal (where she was sunk). The Trumpeter kit features 433 pieces and is 722mm (28") in length. The kit includes decal markings for both the Tokyo raid as well as Midway. We believe the kit is also coming with 1/350 scale B25, Wildcat, Devastator, and Dauntless aircraft. The exact number of additional aircraft or confirmation that they are included should be available at the time of release (November), but Trumpeter is also making these aircraft available as separate kits. List price: $129.95 USD.

The other two kits are 1:700 scale Iowa class battleships, the BB-63 Missouri, and the BB-64 Wisconsin. The ships are in their 1991 Gulf War era configurations though. The ships can be built as either full or waterline hulls. Each kit include 223 pieces and measures in at 386mm. Photo etched parts include 2-piece brass propellers. Both are due out in November of 2002 and carry a list price of $22.95 USD.
