A very timely announcement (and hopefully release) of the USS "Fort Worth"!

Bronco has announced their upcoming 1/350 kit of the USS "Fort Worth" LCS-3. She is the third Littoral Combat Ship, following the LCS-1 (USS "Freedom") and LCS-2 (USS "Independence"). The "Fort Worth" has been built to specifically address the shortcomings found in the initial LCS design, and while not problem free, she has made a significant step forward in the realization of this ship design. As a result her hull design was lengthened for stability at higher speeds in addition to the utilization of lighter materials to increase the power-to-weight ratio, thus making more efficient use of the ship's propulsion system. The USS "Fort Worth" has also been designed with measures intended specifically to lower the time required for maintenance and swapping mission packages. In every essence of the words, the USS "Fort Worth" LCS-3 is the next step in the evolution of the Littoral Combat Ship.
