New photos of Bronco's much anticipated upcoming U-boat!
Bronco has been gracious enough to send us a collection of 10 new test shot images of their 1/35 U-XXIII Coastal Submarine kit. Personally I have to say that it looks even more outstanding now that we can see more of the kit. This should be an excellent model straight from the box whether you plan to use it in a diorama or just want to build a large detailed replica. Judging from the photos the fit and detail are going to leave little, if anything, left for the aftermarket to reproduce once the crew at Bronco are finished with it.

For those who missed the original announcement, you can find it here.

Well with the Revell Type IX coming in November and this... looks like I will have to start shopping for a bigger display case! Just one observation, the hatch on the tower interior lacks mechanical detail and seems to have a simple molded on hand wheel. At this scale, it should not have been overlooked. A little scratch building will easily correct this. Cheers Joe

Yes, this is going to be a tough year on both our checkbooks and our shelves Joe: Like I mentioned, there is going to "little" left for the AM to address. That hatch interior was the biggest thing that stood out to me as well. I had to look at it very closely to make sure that I was seeing what we both have concluded about it. I know many people are going to build this with the hatch closed, which makes it an ideal candidate for cutbacks which all manufacturers face to some level on each kit. As you correctly pointed out, it should be a very straightforward and easy fix.
