Earlier this year, Trumpeter released the USS Tennesse (BB-43). In her 1944 configuration. Now due this October, her sister ship, USS California (BB-34) in her 1945 configuration.
The second ship of the Tennessee-class battleship and completed after WWI, the California was the last American battleship built on the West Coast, and the only one built as a dreadnought type. Sunk in the attack on Pearl Harbor, she was eventually salvaged and reconstructed for use in WWII. Her first operation was the invasion of the Marianas in May 1944. She served her entire combat career in the Pacific and was officially decommissioned in 1947.
This kit (no. 05784) consists of over 630 parts including one photo-etch and water line plate, three SC-1 planes, a display stand and engraved name plate and a two-piece hull. The suggested retail price is $54.95 (US).
