Earlier this year, a 1945 version of the USS California was announced by Trumpeter and now comes an announcement for a version of the ship as she was at Pearl Harbor in 1941. After being extensively refitted she was ready for war again by the beginning of 1944.

One of two Tennessee-class battleships, the California was introduced to the US Navy in 1919 and was in service until 1947. Nicknamed “The Prune Barge”, she served as the flagship of the Pacific Fleet. In 1941 she was reassigned as the flagship of the Battle Fleet and stationed in Pearl Harbor. She was sunk on December 7 during the Pearl Harbor attacks.
This kit (No 5783) consists over 430 parts, including photo-etch parts, deck wood pattern and two OS2U planes and is available for pre-order at Free Time Hobbies webstore for $36.95 US plus shipping.
