HMS Aurora was an Arethusa-class light cruiser of the Royal Navy that served throughout the entire conflict of WWII and is the subject of Flyhawk's latest RN vessel. This injected plastic kit has all the hallmarks of Flyhawk's previous releases of fine molding and PE detail.
In September 1939, Aurora was with the 2nd Cruiser Squadron, escorting convoys to Scandinavia and engaged in the hunt for the German battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau. After the Norwegian Campaign she participated in the operations hunting the German battleship Bismarck. She was involved in operations to Spitzbergen and Bear Island (Operation Gauntlet) where she intercepted a German troop convoy. She participated in Operation Torch where she engaged Vichy French Torpedo boats. She remained in the Mediterranean for the rest of the war taking part in the invasions of Sicily, the landings in southern France and the liberation of Athens.

This waterline kit (FH1107) includes 45 plastic trees, 1 photo etch sheet, a decal sheet and a counter weight. It is available from Hobby Link Japan's webstore for ¥4,420, $35.90 USD, € 32.87 plus shipping.

Very nice!! Knowing how FH puts these kits together this would be a worthwhile investment! I'll have to jot this one down on the list too...LOL!!

Both this and the Naiad are on my wish list, but sadly I have yet to find a uk stockist for their kits. A new range of WW2 Royal Navy cruisers and they are not available here?

Ironic, ain't it?
DEC 06, 2015 - 09:18 PM
Very. It would be like a whole new range of M4 Shermans or Nimitz-class carriers being available everywhere but the States. It makes no sense. With luck someone will eventually pick them up. Hannants have Flyhawk listed but none of their kits in stock, so perhaps they're working on it.
