Fujimi has announced the December 2017 release of a full hull version of the IJN Hyuga in 1/350 scale.
This new kit appears to be a re-release of Fujimi’s excellent rendition of Hyuga’s sister hybrid-battleship Ise issued in 2008 with additional new parts unique to Hyuga.

The new Fujimi Hyuga is listed by Hobbylink Japan at https://hlj.com/product/FUJ60054 and can be preordered for US$168.13.

I completely understand, Steve. When I depicted the Ise as a shallow wreck a few years back, I deliberately saved the midships turrets to add to my spare Ise kit for a full-battleship conversion. In the same vein, I also have a spare Hiryu to supply parts for a scatchbuilt Soryu in 1/350. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to fill gaps in the coverage. --Karl

Probably what I will do. Have an Ise I built way back when....planning a major move next summer and looked at stuff I could replace with kits . Got a great deal on another Ise...so trash the built one stealing what parts I can use...IE turrets for a kitbash So went ahead used the HLJ link to preorder it. Figure it says remolded so maybe they will be a few improvements over old Ise kit. LOL no matter one will be a bb the other a hybrid

Looking at drawings/photos of her in 1942 configuration...may not be tooo bad. Figure i will chop the turret platforms off of my soon to be trashed Ise, steal sections of the wood deck to fill in for areas not covered by hybrid wood decking upgrade. Going to have to figure something out for stern metal area. Can get a catapault and crane from the trashed kit as well. Of course some clever 3d cottage industry could make some conversion parts....LOL

I'm considering turning to the 3D printer folks for certain parts on my 1/200 battleships--those could be great time and labor savers! --Karl
