Trumpeter has announced the December 2018 release of their 1/350 scale rendition of the pre-dreadnaught battleship Schleswig-Holstein.
A veteran of the First World War Battle of Jutland, the Schleswig-Holstein also fired the first shots of the Second World War when she bombarded the Polish base at Danzig's Westerplatte on September 1,1939. Used as a training vessel for the majority of the war, the ship was finally sunk by British bombers in Gotenhafen in December 1944.

In the last few years Trumpeter has released so many pre-Dreadnaught and WWl battleships in 1/350; I wish they would issue them in 1/700 while I can still see in that scale.

This ship wrote history as is officially started the second world war in europe with the first shots at the polish ammunition dump at Free City of Danzig´s Westerplatte. I do hope Pontos & Co. will offer some useful upgrade sets for this one - anxiously waiting for it. Thomas
