In June, MSW brought you news of Tamiya’s collaboration with two other Shizuoka-based hobby companies, Aoshima and Hasegawa to release the ultimate Pearl Harbor Attackers set containing all six of the IJN carriers involved in the December 7 attack. Well, it is my pleasure to say that these companies have done it again. The new set contains all of the escort ships that sailed with the aircraft carriers. Included in this set is the battleships Hiei and Kirishima and all of the submarines complete with their midget subs. All together, this will make a very impressive display

Thanks for sharing Kenny Although I am not a buyer for this set, I have to admit that it is an interesting way of promoting and selling models Also, I hope that the subs include correct decals Cheers, Skipper

That is an impressive kit they have there.

looks to me that Aoshima has the most kits in it. Wonder why it was released under Tamiya brand....Probably because it was their idea. This is also a companion set to go with the carrier set and I think Tamiya had the most there. What does the set cost just out of curiousity?

I haven't seen any prices yet Steve. Gator

That's a really neat concept, but it would keep me from seeing the light of day for about 2 years if I built all those kits at once!

I'll second that, Bob Skipper

Got to hand it to Tamiya, they know the best way to get the most out of their kits. I can see it now, first the attackers, then the defenders, then the attackers with full hull, then the defenders with full hull? This would be a great set for a club to buy and build as a group, unfortunately my club is mainly into wingy thingies. No way I could convince them to pop for this set.
