Built at Mare Island and commissioned in June 1942, the Wahoo was built with the fully enclosed periscope shears and cigarette deck this model represents. The side plating around the cigarette deck was removed during a post-shakedown refit at Mare Island before the Wahoo sailed to Pearl Harbor for her first war patrol on 23 August 1942. To represent the Wahoo during her first through fifth patrols is a matter of simply applying a vinyl mask and removing a portion of the resin plating aft. The conversion set can be used to represent Wahoo from her commissioning in June 1942 through her second patrol ending in January 1943. With some modifications, the kit can be converted to represent WAHOO from her third through fifth patrols, up to her first major refit at Mare Island Ship Yard in July 1943.

Thanks for sharing Kenny It will make a "different" Gato I like the attention Nautilus guys had on small details, like the riveted surfaces (Thanks Rosie ) and all the details that will be able to see a glimpse from the flooding holes. Although, I must confess, that I prefer the late war CT Cheers Rui
