Building upon its ever expanding range of plastic kit sets, Trumpeter have announced the release of their 1/144 Type XXIII U-Boat . The anticipated release date for this kit is January 2009 and the suggested retail price at this stage is $US 22.95

This is a brand new model of the Type XXIII U-boat. The kit will consist of 32 parts on 3 sprues.

The Type XXIII U-Boats were designed to operate primarily in the shallows of the North Sea, Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. They were so small they only managed to carry two torpedoes. This model of U-Boat was a late war development with the first being launched in April 1944.
