(NATO code-named "Luyang II") Commissioned in 2004, the LanZhou features an APAR-style active phased array radar system and vertically launched HQ-9 naval version long-range air defense missile system.

This class represents China's first true fleet air defense capability. Kit consists of 325 parts on 11 sprues, with photo etched mast parts and markings for the Chinese PLA Navy, Haikou of the South Sea Fleet.


Kit details include helicopter landing platform, 8 air defense missiles, target tracking radar system, Karl-27 copter, and display stand. Completed kit measures over 17"long.

In July 1936, the Quincy was sent to the Mediterranean Sea to protect US interests in Spain during the Spanish Civil War. She subsequently served during WWII in the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea and later in the Pacific. In August 1942 she was attacked and sunk by a large Japanese naval force with the loss of 370 men.

Kit consists of 188 parts on 9 sprues, including two SOC Seagull planes and display stand. Completed kit measures 10" long.

Pleased to see the Liberty is a new tool. I had been a little concerned after seeing other Trumpeter kits promoted as having the "assistance of Pit-road". Part count sounds great!
