Yes fellow ship modellers you read it right- Trumpeter have announced the upcoming release of their 1/72 USMC Landing Craft/AirCushion (LCAC). This is an exciting new variant of the LCAC in 1/72nd scale complete with photo etc details and will measure almost 14 inches long.
The anticipated release date for this kit is June 2009.
The suggested retail price at this stage is $US109.95

Thats right this is a brand new variant of the earlier Japanese Defence Force kitset which you read about right here in May 2008. The request was made then for a US variant and your request has been well & truly answered by Trumpeter.
This ranks as one of the most exciting 1/72nd releases for 2009
The kit will consist of 338 parts on a total of 9 sprues and is to represent an example from the US Marine Corps.

Navy and Marines. They transport weapons systems, equipment, cargo
and personnel of the assault elements of the Marine Air/Ground Task
Force both from ship to shore and across the beach.

- Detailed ramp which will include an opening & closing ramp;
