Further to this news writers report on the 19th of February 2009  Trumpeter  have just released these detailed and gorgeous images of their now released 1/72 USMC Landing Craft/AirCushion (LCAC).
Judging by these images which are a mixture of new and previously released this kit looks to be one of the most significant releases of 2009.
As we understand it this kit is available now with a retail price to be confirmed however the previously advised suggested retail price was $US109.95.
As previously advised the kit will consist of 338 parts on a total of 9 sprues and is to represent an example from the US Marine Corps.

Ship History
The Landing Craft/Air Cushion (LCAC) is a class of
air-cushion vehicle/hovercraft used as landing craft by the United States
Navy and Marines. They transport weapons systems, equipment, cargo
and personnel of the assault elements of the Marine Air/Ground Task
Force both from ship to shore and across the beach.

-  Detailed ramp which will include an opening & closing ramp;
-  Detailed turbines  & large 4-bladed propeller;
-  Clear parts for operating house cab, windows & lights;
-  Photo-etch parts for NETS & Sweeper;
-  Markings for the US Marine Corps.
