If you recall this news reporter’s story in March 2009 when I stated that
Nautilus Models were investigating the options for various resin conversion sets for the Revell of Germany 1/144th Fletcher Class Destroyer.
Well the great news is that Nautilus Models are in the advanced research and development stages of their 1/144th Fletcher Class Destroyer Square Bridge Conversion set.
Check out these released images of this set.
We understand that this Square Bridge Conversion set is primarily designed for the Revell of Germany 1/144th Fletcher Class Destroyer.
We also understand that the key to successfully installing the Conversion set is to use some plastic strip to locate the side and rear bulkheads and remove the raised line needed to locate the round deckhouse. The other requirement is that the modelshipwright will also need to remove the mast supports from the kit parts and add them to the bridge platform.
Kindly note missing from the images are some of the interior pieces for the bridge (engine telegraph, etc,) and a pelorus and two compasses for the open bridge area.
The availability date is unavailable at this stage however there is an indicative price suggested of approximately US$40.00.
We will of course update you with more detail as it comes to hand.
