Ships History: The USS Beaufort was built in 1909 as SS Rheingraf by H. Koch A. G., Lubeek, Germany then renamed SS Rudolph Blumberg. Seized at Pensacola FL, and acquired by the US Navy in April 1917. She was Commissioned USS Beaufort at New Orleans, LA. September 20, 1917 and reclassified Cargo Ship AK-6 July 17, 1920. Decommissioned December 23, 1925 at Norfolk Navy Yard and struck from the Naval Register December 23, 1925. Finally sold in October 1926 to Norwegian Shipping Co., renamed SS Fjorden she was reported lost, April 12, 1933.

Excellent news from BFM, and very nice to see these not so well known subjects making an appearance. And, War Drake (War Thistle) - I've seen the camo version of this as a coloured book illustration., a great chance for some sexy artwork guys! Peter F
