Trumpeter announces a new up coming kit, 1/700 HMS Queen Elizabeth British Battleship, 1918.

The Queen Elizabeth was the lead ship of dreadnought battleships named in honor of Elizabeth I of England. Launched in 1915, she saw service in both World Wars and became the flagship of the British Atlantic Fleet after WWI. During the WWII evacuation of Crete in 1941 she was attacked in the harbor of Alexandria, Egypt, and sunk in very shallow waters. Although grounded on the harbor bottom, her decks remained above the waterline. For this reason, the British maintained the false illusion of her being in full operation in order to conceal the weak British position in the Mediterranean.

During this time she was repaired, patched and refloated and continued service during the war. Completed kit measures over 11” long and consists of over 170 parts on 6 sprues including photo-etched parts, display stand and name plate.
