Hi Shipmates

Here are some close ups of the bow showing some progress for example the anchor & rope which by the way the rope looks big enough for the Tirpitz not a humble E-Boat LOL.

Ahoy Sean.
She is looking just great! Now your're inspiring me to resume my Eboat build which has been "dry-docked" for about 2 years.

My offer still stands on a bunch of decals I had made for my boat.
The correct eagle crest, as the kit supplied one in incorrect.
I just need a mailing address via private e mail and I'll send them out to you.
Cheers,
Joe

Well this build is definitelty turning into a love /hate one.

Was working away and damaged the Aft deck gun surround:

From this angle it looks fine-

However-

Try and as I may to reglue it it looks crap.

Initially I was gutted however I have a solution. Watch this space.

Now with the various Deck funnels etc. in place

I think the flash makes these look brighter in colour and less weathered than they actually look .

Question ...

That kit comes with an optional bottom? Or, did you cut that?

For all those followinga lomng on this intermittent and lenghty journey whilst possibly not the correct spot or colours nevertheless they add a little colour and its an OTTB build here are the life preservers now mounted on the wheelhouse:

They still require a little more detail work with a paint brush I think but its progess ambit a little.

Ahoy Sean,
Glad to hear that all arrived safely. I made a bunch of decals and flags
as I have an "E"boat under construction and the kit supplied
ones well....were too politically correct...... ....after all....we do model history
and the model should carry the correct emblems.
If you ever need more, just let me know.
I will be resuming my E boat build that been "drydocked" for a little over
2 years now and the upcoming drydocked campaign is the
perfect opportunity.
So enjoy the decals and I am looking forward to seeing yours finished.
PS...... Have you assigned a hull number to her yet?
Have a great day and happy modeling,
Cheers,
jOE

I tried something very new for me painting plastic with oils!

I painted the dinghy paddles with oils:

I painted them Dark Yellow and then added oil.

Whilst its a huge improvement I am still a little way off achieving the effect I really want.

Note to self: Man the drying time was long plus I need to put them in a dust free environment to dry.

Cheers

Joe I was thinking of S11. What do you think?

Say just around pre war as per page 9 of Schnellboot in Action.

Your thoughts?

Hooray I have almost completed a boat granted its a dinghy and part of a greater model but what the heck ! LOL

Here are some images of the Dinghy completed with drybrushing etc.

Now awaiting oars.

Please excuse the vast contrast in image quality.

Cheers

Ahoy Sean,
It is all looking good! and S-11 sounds good. The reason I asked was that
I have my E boat to finish for the "Dry docked campaign" which as you
probably remember was started in 2007. So I will use a different hull
number and if we build enough of these we will actually represent the
whole fleet and maybe they will all be reunited someday in some
museum somewhere.
Cheers,
Joe
