Making a Water Base, Step-by-Step

Bow and stern wakes. . .

While your splash waves are drying, squeeze out some latex caulk on a piece of cardboard and grab an old paint brush. Wet the paint brush with water and start to apply latex caulk along the hull to make your wakes. (Photo 23 & 24) If you get some caulking on the ship where you don’t want it, clean your brush, dip it in some water and brush away the excess caulk. Trust me, it works.
After all your waves and wakes are dry and you have blended them into the rest of the water, apply a good coat of Future (Kleer) floor polish. Continue to apply Future until you are satisfied with the gloss coat.
