Showcase Model's HMS/HMAS Vendetta and AJM's WW1 HMS Scott Destroyer Leader. Vendetta is nice. The HMS Scott kit excellent, very complete.

"This is really the last one - I promise" I said to the wife as I hauled These two in my basket. Lets see if her remembrance is good...
Its a modern PLAN Navy Type 052C Luyang II guided missile destroyer in 1:350 scale. Parts inside are clean and crisp, some PE also included. The painting instructions are bogus though as they ask you to paint the upper part of the superstructure in plain white but looking at the pics of the real ship it is surely some kind of light grey. But I am still not sure until now if the ship shows to kinds of grey at their side superstructures or if this is just a trick of light because the different angled side structures and it have just a plain grey livery.

And, of course, there is a very interesting upgrade set for this vessel from Five star. I ordered my limited SUPER UPGRADE kit. For those who are interested: The difference between the standart version and the limited super upgrade set is that in the standart set are 5 x turned brass parts (main gun and and four communications antennas) and 132 resin parts. For the special version there are 65 brass parts and 84 resin parts. Most turned parts here are the shafts for vertical missile launcher hatches. So If you want to invest about 20 € less you can surely also choose the "standart" edition. The manual is included in a folded colored big DINA4 format. There is also a DVD with the instruction manual again and pictures of the single building steps included - a nice idea I think. Just a good rigging plan like HASEGAWA is doing is still missing in both kits. This would have been the icing on top of the cake.

Cheers

Mark,
Really nice haul you got there. The 3D book on the North Carolina does it mention anything about her sister ship USS Washington. I have the North Carolina kit but I want to turn her into the Washington in the configuration during the Battle of Guadalcanal.

Very nice haul Mark,
That Airfix Tiger is properly old, that boxing dates back the late 50's early 60's.
With my current space issues I have found a couple of very small things that I can crack on with.

The Austin Texas model club had their show today I managed to pickup these three items really, really cheap.
The seller of the USS Lexington owns a hobby shop in Houston Texas. He told me it was marked down so far because it has been sitting the self for two years. Ships just don't sell in Houston. At first I thought there was something wrong with the kit but everything is there and in the wrappers.
Here are the other two kits.

The tide was particularly high over Black Friday and Cyber Monday and the following ships seem to have washed up at my house, much to the wifes 'delight'
Because my USS Iwo Jima needs an escort.

She also needed a friend

I enjoy submarines because they are always a nice weekend build.

Mixed bag. Another sub, Showcase's HMAS Vendetta and my entry to the Under 1000 ton campaign when it ever gets approved - A Rowangarth tug boat.

And then yet ANOTHER Battlewagon! This came with pretty much everything included. Aftermarket deck, barrels, PE. Just needed to source some resin 5' turrets.

Rory,
Nice finds. The North Carolina will be my next ship build. I purchased 3D printed 16" & 5" turrets, 40mm Bofors and 20mms from Model Monkey along with a replacement funnel, PE and metal barrels. The 16" turrets came with 3D barrels but I already had the metal barrels. It will be nice to compare the 3D items to the resin ones.

Hey everyone,
So with their efforts to provide the modeler with improved sanding tools Infini Models has developed this set. It includes PE sanding sticks with self adhesive sanding sheets in grit ranging from 400 to 7000.
Simply remove the PE sanding stick and cut the sanding sheet the the correct size.
I haven't opened it yet but as soon as I do I will write a review for the set. Really excited to try it out soon.

That sounds good. I am constantly wearing mine out, so I am anxious to see your review.
While I am at it Zuikaku in her 1944 washed up on my beach at Christmas, which is amazing since I am 1700 miles away from any ocean. It calls for the multi color two tone green, tan and black camo. Black and Tan are no problem, but the greens have me stumped. Does anyone know of of the two appropriate greens available in spray cans. Don't own an airbrush.

Nice Haul Mark,
Picked up another bit of loft insulation. Civil vessel too.

It is the original kit, but with a nice raft of extras.

Mrs Duster might let me have this one on display when I have built it.
Cheers

Gentlemen,
I am proud to present you my latest (and last for this year - promised!) two hauls:
I am one of the first recipients of TRUMPETER´s 1:200 Titanic - and boy, this one is really huge! Came today with the postal service. Extremely difficult to smuggle through the wife-barrier to the hobbycave...

My online hobby shop where I often buy my Hobby needs made a 16 hour special inventory discount sale which I was not able to resist. I bought this one for 307 € including shipping which is a very fair price to me. I am a happy man today
Just Looking Forward now for the rumoured upgrade set from Trumpeter itself and especially PONTOS.

And another gem went into my net - After some search I was able to aquire the USS Olympia in its premium edition set from a friendly turkish modeller collegue for 125 EURO. This kit resembles now my newest kit and simultaniously the oldest kit I do have in stock as the first moulds of the original kit were made in 1959. Together with all the Upgrades in the kit it should build into a nice Little gem - I do like ships of the late 19 century somehow...

Cheers
