I have a feeling that nice bright stripe would have been removed very quickly when they finished their shakedowns and actually went into combat zones.
Is up to you Julian how you paint it as it is your kit. Paint it bright pink if you want..
You are doing an excellent job Julian. Keep it up.
Thanks Warren, still going strong here. Pink stripe? No way, not unless an LHD took part in the gay parade in Amsterdam

 cheers,
Julian

Update is underway, this is just a snap I found with a red/white center line on deck although I think, ( maybe some Navy type can confirm this), that a low-viz scheme is being applied nowadays.:

Glad it's not pink

You were spot on from the start Eugene, never doubted the fact. there are plenty of photos showing a red/white centre line if you take the trouble to look

Beautiful railings and catwalks. Mine always come out rather bent up looking, kinda like my old tub ESSEX in the 60's. She was pretty beat up by then.

You're really right, Julian, this seems to be an astonishing kit. Can't barely let my hands from the box...

I'm also glad that I bought the KA PE set, parts look very nice and crisp!

Good morning Daniel,
Just watching the qualification for the Chinese Grand Prix, (the demise of "old stinky finger Vettel"

 ).
I am looking forward to adding the radar and communication array to the Wasp: that will bring the island to life. Do you know what the curved section of screening on top of the wheel house is supposed to do? there will be another section at the rear of the island and both sections seem to screen off the port side of the ship, but I can't for the life of me figure out why.
Cheers,
Julian

Morning, Julian! I wonder if Sauber's Perez will again score big this weekend

. I think these screenings are there to protect antennae/weapons systems from debris coming from the flight deck or the rotor turbulences.

According to my references these are the Sea sparrow guidance systems. The antenna/sensor projects above the screen so I would guess its not really protected by the screen. I would also expect the screen to screen off the entire port side. See what I mean?

Forgot to mention Perez qualifying 8th, (uncorrected for Hamilton's gearbox penalty). Nice run by Nico Rosberg ! First Mercedes pole since 1955 !!!!!!

You are speaking about parts J62 (front) and A16 (aft), right? So in my eyes these screens are indeed there to protect the Sea Sparrow directors; I'd say they aren't covering the entire port side because it isn't necessary. But I'm not a ship designer, y'a know?

Indeed the Sauber Team scored nice in these qualifications; I'm really hoping they'll be able to score also in the race.

I had to read some texts for my master's thesis, so I regrettably couldn't watch. But from a swiss perspective, it wasn't really good, if I read the news correctly...

Sauber 7th and 10th

Not too shabby Daniel, Perez is adding to his points very nicely I would say.

Keep an eye on Rosberg Mardis: he might just be the surprise of the season now that that Brawn's "sneaky wing" has been declared legal. I can remember watching Keke Rosberg years ago in the "Turbo period" of F1.
