Hello Julian, Glad to see you back. You're not the only one having a dry spell, my Vosper still isn't finished either. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I'm still in need of a few crewmen for her. Would you believe that Azimut still hasn't sent me replacements for the parts that were missing and incorrect for a figure that I ordered from them in July! They won't even answer my e-mails anymore. I sure wouldn't recommend doing business with them. U-models had announced two officer figures and an enlisted rate awhile ago, but I haven't been able to locate them yet. Except on Azimut's website and needless to say, I won't be ordering them from there. Looking forward to seeing the Wasp completed and I can't wait to see what you do with Bismarck. Al

Hi there Al, I have been following your Vosper build, the crew is falling together nicely and your figure painting is great.
I have been considering pulling my Vosper out of the attic and fitting a 40 mm Bofors to the foredeck. Lots of nice 40mm;s around at the moment.
Have been very busy fitting railings and chaff launchers to the Wasp today.
Have also been looking at my ICM König with PE set and brass barrels.
Could be a fun thing to build a WW 1 German battlewagon.
Lots of plans, too little time

Cheers,
Julian

There is more to come Need more crewmen on deck. Also have to rustle up some sort of stand.

Seriously though, a break can reignite the fires if they have been banked for a while.

@Al: thanks for the kind words! I just experimented with a MIG thinner and some oil paint. The result is the nearest I came to reality...

@Julian: Yes it is some months indeed. Your build is still inspiring mine, altough I am going to try a more used look. All this PE from the railings and life raft installments was using my nerves... But it is worth the effort! Zurich is not as beautiful this winter time... we had some longer cold and snow periods. Looking forward to warmer days!

Thanks, Mardis! I will post more images of the completed kit as soon as possible. Just waiting for some of the new veteran models gadgets to add (RAM, CIWS and Mk-38 Mod. 2 25mm Bushmasters).

Yes, I refuled our helo. My Primary job was "Oil King". We take care of the ships fuel, lube oil, and boiler water. I also took care of the JP5. When it was time to give our bird a drink it was my job to do that. Ot was also worth another $120 per month, so heck yeah I was up for the extra work.

That is a fantastic build Daniel, weathering is very good and the deck is suitably busy. Only thing I would change is the anchors, I think you need to check them out. Apart from that my compliments on a very labour intensive build, ( I know, I built this one too )
cheers,
Julian

Indeed, Julian, I put the anchors the wrong way... nice eyes !

The build went reasonably smooth and was a pleasure... but really immense!

As long as you see 1/350th anchors facing the wrong way, you are on the secure side of the life!
