The 88 has arrived. I am very seriously in love It is huge

On a slightly less happy note: the gunring doesn't fit in the Vosper dustbin, (B*****ks, B*****ks etc.)

Thanks for the photo material Daniel, great detail photos of the cannon. I am looking for this sort of camo, possibly with green lines too:

I had the time to take a good look in the box this morning, nice.........................................

I don't want this suggestion to be taken the wrong way, but why don't you two start a blog on Armorama called 'Battle of the 88s' or something like that.. That is the site for targets..

I am a bit actually.. I know I am going to stuff up something or other during a build..

As much as I would like to Dsniel I am too poor after the Missouri to buy much else for the moment. I have 1/35 scale Dragon 88mms but nothing in 1/18 or whatever.

Cheers

The idea of doing a build of the 88 is rather appealing. First I want to finish off the old Vosper, the dustbin turret has turned out quite nicely, even though I say it myself.
The 88 is a very tempting build though, as Elvis would have said: "Man, that suckers huge"
There is room for improvement though so I presume the "men who stare at rivets" are gearing up to ritually sacrifice this very nice offering that we couldn't even dream about 20 years ago, ( see Gaston's remarks about the Hornet, undoubtably true but is it an interesting point for the mainstream?).
The wheel tread is probably wrong and the supports are probably a couple of micrometers out of alinement
At the moment I am trying to find a three colour cam scheme for it.

From what I have seen so far Gaston is on a mission to destroy the Chinese kit makers. But all he seems to achieve is to make calls from test shots and shadows in photos..

I take all his stuff with a large dose of salts..

Maybe when I see the final dustbin I can comment on it. I am sure it looks amazing.

Cheers Julian

In case of 88 .... I am not understood with the matter AAA ... good in no other neither!!! I think that it is a great kit with details for improving but rightly it to be what I do not want to do!!! It goes of box with some personal touch and many happiness. I scare it a bit when goes to the site friend alone Armorama!!! I am afraid!!!
:D

Well some advances in my classes of seam .

My Tango takes care of the principal access to the bunker!!! .... well only hinder sleeping!!

Fluttering like a hen ? Well, not really, I think it is sad that some people do not enjoy the fact that some super models are now available. I would hate to walk around armed with calipers only to find this kit is 0,0000001 mm to thin, that wing is 0, 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000007 mm too short etc. 20 years ago nobody would have believed that a 1/18th 88 Flak would appear on the market. Armorama? sure, lets do a double feature but I want to finish the Vosper first, which does not mean......

Well, I'm 57, I intend to enjoy as much of my stash, wine cellar and job as I can because time now is deceptive. I have seen a lot of friends checking out the last few years so.....................
Lets avoid doing the same camo on the 88 Daniel

November 23rd update:
The dustbin saga is finished. It's not an easy job and I learnt a lot here if only to figure out how far you want to go with the detailing. I am satisfied even if I didn't use all of the supplied PE sheets, (Happy enough that things stayed together):

Okay guy's grab the calipers, ready. steady, go...........
Find the fault and enjoy life in a very dark tunnel

You are an old wolf of sea!!! Wise I that you tape-worm 88 mm on the table!!!!
I was putting my hands in the fire for it

Realy its amicable kit!!! And it goes very rapidly!! Meeit announces 15 cm also in 1/18 or 1/16....

Well ...... I remain stagnant ..... say the color RLM 02 and I like me but do not convince me to leave it without camo!!! I am thinking of giving one spent winter!! Russian front where they were left the great majority in the ice and mud..... I dont now!! sorprice !!!!

If my friend ... I am minor that you but already I was with a foot of another side and return to enjoy what we have and do not realize!!! And I have many kits for arming ...

How did the Sea trials go with the S-100?
The build is looking good and it also sails, (well, the Vosper is a bit like Rover, It's a car but that doesn't mean it will drive )
