Daniel, Shhhhhh! I'm sure that you realize stealth and surprise are a Schnellboot's biggest allies when surrounded by Vospers! Al

Nah, watch your stern, that's where the muted rumble of three huge Mercedes diesel engines is coming from

Just to prove to the Doubting 'Tomas' (or should I say Daniel) that some progress has been made, here are a few pics.

Evergreen strip was added to the PE non-slip areas.

The ventilator trunks and ammo lockers were modified.

So was the forward gun mount.

A lot isn't glued yet, just positioned for the photos. It's been slow going because a lot of forethought and planning has to go into this build, so I don't "paint myself into a corner", so to speak. Al

You can't call me Thomas as I never doubted you my friend.

But I can see Mr Sallows getting side-tracked again just before he finishes the MTB, just like his Bismarck, and the model he stopped to build the Bismarck...

BTW Julian, the MTB is looking great. Pity all the work putting the metal on the outside of the dustbin isn't quite so obvious to other's eys.. I know what it is like to do lots of work in an area and it not being noticeable after some paint is applied.

And I refer everyone back to the picture of the S-Boat being towed by the Fairmile, now roaring Daimler-Benz engines there..

And lastly, a site on the internet has the Italian MTBs on special at the moment.

Cheers

Nice progress Al. The Evergreen strips are a nice addition, more pronounced than the etch plates.

He's not the only one Warren, I was in the middle of a build when the Schnellboot 'docked', and of course I couldn't resist opening the box, then 'just' test fitting a few parts, then 'just' cementing a few of those parts, and before I knew it I was off and running! My previous project now sitting forlornly on the shelf gathering dust. Al

I was referring to the "Man from Montevideo", Warren. He who seems able to juggle umpteen builds at the same time, and still do justice to each one. Al

Stuff and nonsense, I will fit the 88 in the Vosper's Dustbin, use the Vosper as a launch on the Bismarck and display the Bismarck alongside the Borodino as a "what if" time warp diorama. Pft, sidetracked indeed, all that standing upside down there in Oz has made the blood run to head

Hey Julian, it could be packards too! You'll never know till it hit's the fan.
Nice job Al. As usual. you put my work to shame. But one day I'll catch up.
Vosper's still in dry dock. Called M.R.C and Italeri still hasn't sent the parts. M.R.C. said they had a Vosper and they might bash it for everyones problems of short shots and broken parts. I wont hold my breath as it's been waiting since the middle of the summer!!!! And when I e-mail Italeri all I get is a standard e-mail reply that it is under consideration. What the heck is there to consider????
Daniel, Nice looking torp's. The det's look real nice and P/E is too much, but better looking than the kit stuff.

Hi Daniel..

Something else turned up in the post today infinitely more interesting than a tiny little Italian MTB or a stinky German gun..

Thanks Daniel and Al.

Al, I will start a blog by doing a full photo shoot of all the sprues etc. But then I have to wait until detail sets start to be released as I don't want to have to build two of the things! Or do I..
