Small update on Sunday's work,

On with the rigging on the gunports. Port bow done.

All down the port side finished, and round the stern.

railings around the Admiral's walk in place.

I have also added a door on the port side aft, as I would not expect the admiral to crawl through a gunport.

More soon,

Si

Thanks Jan,

Only 8 more gun ports to rig, then the funnels, then I can get on with some more construction.

Cheers.

Thanks Dave,

I am quite pleased with progress, considering the age of the kit, Really just main turrets, masts and rigging to go.

Cheers

Thanks Sean,

A couple of weeks out of the workshop always heightens the enthusiasm, even with slightly tedious tasks like the gun ports.

Cheers.

Ah, the details!

But that's what makes them really pop!

Looking good Si!

Any hints as to what you've got in store for the cruiser campaign?

A small update,

The gun port rigging finally done.

The four boat handling derricks on, now I have to work out how the funnel stays fit in.

Ooo one of the ugly sisters: the Scharnhorst

Very nice choice & I agree mate-definitely a battle cruiser & he'll sit very nicely alongside your DOY!

Top notch work you're doing on Borodino! Not far off now

Camera all charged up and pictures downloaded.

Funnel rigging on, I couldn't find any really good pictures or drawings that showed funnel stays that looked right, so I went with what looked right to me.

The fo'c's'le railings are quite complex in shape, but I decided to have a crack at bending them to shape.

And fitted.

More soon.

Cheers.

The main armament.

The Master gun barrels compared to the kit parts.

The turrets under construction.

Job done, the moulded Aztec steps between the barrels were replaced with a spare but of etched vertical ladder, and an etched door added to the rear of the turret.

sprayed black.

All the main deck railings in place, along with the bow anchors, and the main turrets.

Anchor cables, masts and rigging to go, and then it is job done.

cheers.
