Thanks Mike,

It is getting there. Still have the four double aerials to do, (fortunately the spreaders for those are on the pontos fret) and few other bits and pieces before the final push on the railings.

Thanks for looking in.

Thanks Russ,

Really feel He is getting there.

Fair wind and plenty of time at the weekend, and (hopefully not prodding fate too hard with a sharp stick) I might just inch across the line,

Thanks Dave,

Going for the final big push this weekend.

Rigging to finish a few deck details that I have missed and the railings, then time to hoist his colours.

Thanks Jan,

I have everything crossed, (slightly uncomfortable) but provided I don't hit any snags with the twin aerial runs, and I get the rigging in the bag tomorrow, should have enough time on Sunday to get the maindeck railings and a few other details on.

Cheers

Thanks Bernd,

Combination of a good base kit, Pontos' full upgrade, and a few scratchbuilt additions.

Glad you liked the rigging, that did stretch mu knowledge of naughty words.

Great work on the aerial spreaders Si!

Nothing makes me more nervous than the thought of making spreaders for rigging...

Nearly there now in this marathon build

The Final push, this is it!

the first railings fitted to the fo'c's'le.

The trick bits round the anchors.

There are some grills that sit between the etch of the wood deck & the guard rails (32 in total)

Couple more cable reels (last of the big ones down.

first long lengths on.

Made a little mistake making of some of the other cable reels from the pontos set, so didn't have the correct parts left to make up the reels for the davits. Fortunately Revell very much to their provided some, In order to complete today, I have used the kit parts.

More railing, gaps are being left alongside the fairleads, the foremost pair also modified.

Railings on as far as the quarterdeck.

Railings done, and ensign staff on.

Jackstaff on.

Prop guard in place in stowed postion.

Mount for the after boat boom in place.

All four boat booms ready for fitting.

After boat boom in place.

And the forward one.

Platforms around the foredeck.

And finally the ensign hoisted,

Bismarck is commissioned.

Here are a few finished shots.

Hi Russ,

You must have posted whilst I was posting, apologies fir missing your comment.

The spreaders were fun! nice that the parts, including the insulators were provided in the etch, not always done.

I usually use paint to replicate the insulators, not separate parts, but went with it as they were there, made it a little more time consuming, but the end effect was worth it.

Finally finished the marathon, within time.... Just.

Thanks for all the support along the way Mate.

Cheers

Thanks Russ,

Apologies for the delay in replying, but I have been traveling for work this week. (Nowhere exciting - Grangemouth in Scotland)

It has been the biggest and most and most complex build to date.

A few were sunk in his honour.

Have appreciated your support along the way.
