Hi Si,

nice and steady progress - I wish I could say so....

Anyway, I managed to finish my AAA

Even though it looks small (and they ARE small), that was quite some work...

For now I'll be out for a few weeks, this time it's leave. There's always something keeping you away from the workbench...

Cheers,
Jan

Hello,

I've been wanting to build a ship, and seeing this campaign I thought of giving it a try. My start pic, and progress to date:

I just dry-fitted the hull bottom -- that gap there should be gone once it is glued. I think I finished all the auxillary guns so I'll be moving on to the structures next.

Hats off to all the great work that's been shown here -- awesome details put on! I have nothing fancy planned for mine as I'll just do it OOB, so I hope that is alright.

Cheers,

Tat

A late entry: Revell's 1/700 Bismarck. This one has been "co-boxed" with Dragon's Tirpitz, to both save space and avoid detection, for almost as long as it has existed. Long enough- Out of the closet, onto the workbench! Here's a start photo, and this evening's progress- finding all the sprues, waterlining the hull, and fit-up of the deck.

Next will be fitment to a build-base, and maybe shooting a bit of paint. I'm excited!

I need to withdraw from this campaign. Even though I have retired it seems that garden work is now taking up all my time. My Honey Do list is growing every day.
Good building to all in the campaign.

My slightly ordinary HMS Hood

Nice Hood, Linus. Even an "ordinary" build of that most lovely ship is worthwhile, and yours looks sharp!

Here is my last minute start for the ‘Sink the Bismarck’ campaign!

I bought this ancient 1973 Revell HMS Ark Royal at a hobby shop closing many years ago (anyone remember San Antonio Hobbies in Mountain View, California?) I could never quite get myself to build it; while the model is generally appealing and sports some nice surface detailing, it is also a bit toylike, inaccurate – and famously ill-fitting.

Still, I have the kit on hand, as well as a White Ensign Models photoetch update set for it. And with only three weeks left in the campaign, I won’t be tempted to go crazy detailing it!

Hi Tim:

I do remember San Antonio Hobbies, didn't know they were closed, they had quite the large store with lots of stuff.

I remember this kit and look forward to seeing you work some modeling finesse into this.

Hi all,

great to see this campaign still at full speed, and even last minute joiners!!

Great work, Linus, your Hood looks really good - mine will not make it in time...

Tim, that's a really nice addition!! I wonder how you will do that in three weeks - I've never seen you just finishing a model - once you start, you start to add and modify things, and build works of art even from the simplest kits... I'm really looking forward to see you building that nice old kit!!

Cheers,
Jan
