Thanks Todd.

Got a bot further yesterday, will post the update shortly, came out not too bad at all,(considering my lack of skill with an airbrush.)

Cheers

More progress here as well - nice work, Si! This 'baltic decals' seem to work quite fine! Nice job on the false wave at the stern!

And here's my weekend's work on HMS Hood!

After much sanding, first coat of primer with airbrush

Still a little work to do, but the hull's getting there.

First work on the deck. And my first NorthStar kit - apparently Si didn't find out that they offer RN winches, so they were not sold out and the winches that are molded on here aren't really looking like winches. So they will go - the replacement will be installed only after the wooden deck, since the new ones are a little bit bigger.

More destructive work

and the deck in place

Propulsion

and shafts cut to paint them independently in metal color.

And finally - some constructive work, after it was more or less all about cutting and removing so far: the degaussing cable installed.

So much for now, some more pictures over at the Hood build log.
Here I should have another update in about a week from now.

Cheers,
Jan

Looking good guys!

I'm in with the HMS Rodney, that got a few shots in on the Bismark. Barrels came today! Now I just need to find the ArtWorx deck... I have the instructions, but the actual deck seems to have floated away.

I'm going to start this one once I get into my new house in a month, so hopefully that deck turns up!

Steve

...and finally a few pictures from what I did to my Hood over the weekend.

PE for the rudder, gives it a nice touch. Should look good once painted

Started some work on the superstructure - pretty complex. More detail and some 'not so smarts' on the Hood build log...

And the first brass replacement parts. This brass goes instead of the plastic, not on top - which doesn't make it necessarily easier...

And with this I have to announce my first break, I'll be away from the workbench for the next two week, so probably no worthwhile progress before July. Time is running...

Cheers,
Jan

Hi Si,

very nice progress! This skin for the bulkheads really looks like a nice idea to fix those areas - without leaving you in doubt as to 'where goes what??' after all molded on parts have been sanded down...

Nothing to report from HMS Hood for this weekend, have been away from the workbench, and it will be the same for the coming weekend. And I doubt that I'll find time during the week...

Cheers,
Jan

Thanks Jan,

I like the skinning for the bulkheads, they fit well, and are the basis for a lot more detail, will post yesterday's update shortly.

Thanks Tim,

You may have a little wait, not half way round the superstructure yet, and got the funnel to finish and forward hanger boat racks to build up yet.

Appreciate your comment.

For this campaign i decided to do an Arado based on the Bismarck,..as planes are allowed,..

Airfix 1/72 scale Arado,.. it's an old model 1966 mold so don't expect much

Easy build, so i dicided to make it a bit more interesting and take off the wings and added details to the interior

And last week i needed to paint another German aircraft in the same colors so make the best out of it i sprayed both in standard German WWII colors,.. as i already added the wings it was a bit difficult.

Next, some floor polish and decals on the Arado

Thx
