Today's progress.
The main rangefinder, out of the box.

And detailed up.

Just for Dave, paint on the main sub assemblies.

The accommodation ladders fitted next to the torpedo stowage, and the funnel caps painted.

The bridge wing supports and rangefinder in place.

All fitted down.

Next, on with the small stuff.
Cheers
Si

was wondering how you were going to paint all that brass Si-but of course, none of the superstructure is permanently down yet-silly me! Should have known better!
BTW? Photo bucket haven't blocked your 3rd party hosting of images yet?

Hi Russ,
Well spotted Mate.
The superstructure is fixed now, this should have been the last photo, not a duplicate of the bridge, teach me to check what I am doing.

My photobucket is still working, will switch when I have to.
Thanks for looking in.
Cheers

Si,
Everything is looking great. I have switched back over to the Kagero myself, pretty sure the Shokaku is going to take a bot longer and wanted to finish something for the campaign.
I worked on the forward torpedo cranes and the rear deck cranes. Should be close to finishing her soon.
amazing work
Dave

I played the "massive catch up" game on this one Si! Fantastic work so far! The etch set added a bunch of detail...fine application of it too! Good luck on the photobucket plight! I am pretty sure they changed the cutoff dates in an effort to gain a crowd willing to fork over the coins to keep their stuff seen. I picked up an Imgur account to fill the void. No guarantees they won't ever do what PB did...but for now it works excellent and with no popup junk. Keep up the fine work n the Kagero!

Thanks Todd,
Appreciate you looking in, and your kind comment, I am loving the infini upgrade. (Might be a Japanese destroyer flotilla building up.
I will see what happens with PB, I am looking into other options too.

Thanks Norman,
It is your choice, but I am very impressed with the infini set, well etched and clear instructions, and lots of turned brass as well as rigging material.

Thanks for the info SI. I have lyrica thread and I would like the included turned brass. I can sand plastic decent but you'll never be able to perfectly recreate machined brass. She looks good Si, always impressed with your skills good sir.

Thanks Mark,
I like the tuned brass too, especially when more than just the gun barrels are included.

Small progress this weekend,
Ladders added to the foremast.

Vents and stovepipe fitted, it is quite a one piece moulding, but with Tamiya's usual engineering it fits very well.

Signal halyards on the foremast.

Cheers
Si
