Hi Gaz,

It is good set, lots of useful detail, including parts for later refits on the survivors.

Thanks for looking in.

Cheers

Agreed!
The etch really captures the delicacy of those mast details.

Hi Tim,

Sometimes it still surprises me how a little fairly basic etch can lift a fairly basic kit.

Thanks for looking in.

Small update from last weekend,

started a production line for the 20mm.

However managed to loose one of the barrels. temporary fix, put the etched units together.

Not bad, but a little two dimensional, plan is will build one more plastic etch unit, unse those on the midships deck, and a couple of the etched units as a temporary fix for the two guns down on foredeck.

Si,

Man those are some tiny guns. Nice job with getting all of those pieces together the added detail does payoff in the end.

Thanks Mark,

You know sometimes fate plays silly games? well I was at the workbench today and , had masked and sprayed the Fairey Gannet I have over on the Flattops Campaign. Well I was taking the masking tape off, missed the bin with a bit, and when I picked it up off the floor, attach to it was the missing barrel. I have built up the three guns, and fitted them, will post the pictures tomorrow.

Thanks Gaz,

Pure luck, I had scoured that bit of the floor. I am pleased with the way the 20mm have come out, not bad at all for kit parts with a few bits of left over etch.

Thanks for looking in mate.

Thanks Mark,

I will admit I am rather pleased with the way look ,for some mediocre kit parts hacked around with left over bits of etch they have come out quite well.

Thanks Mark,

Little bit of work to do on the insulators, then the deck ralings, oh. and a bit of paint on the kit base.

The final push.

The insulators finish of, the all the rigging between them and the attachment to the yards was painted to represent rope, then a dark wash added as they sat over the fore funnel.

foredeck railings on.

The maindeck railings.

Stern railings fitted around the mine rails.

anchors and staffs fitted.

Ensign hoisted, Z18 commissioned.

Not bad for a fairly basic kit, with little bit of love and a good etched set.

Thanks for all the support along the way.

Cheers

Si
