New 1/350 Cruisers from Aoshima (1:350)
Working with their much publicized Takao, Aoshima Models announces the release of their 1/350 IJN Heavy Cruisers Atago and Maya. These sisters shared similar fates during the Battle of Leyte Gulf. While sailing through the Palawan Passage, the Atago and Maya were torpedoed by the US subs Darter and Dace, respectfully. The Atago, Kurita’s flagship, was sunk while the Maya was damaged to the point that she had to withdraw.

This nicely detailed 1/700 model is of the IJN destroyer Hibiki as she appeared in 1945. Pit-Road gives the modeler a variety of choices when building this kit.Can be built as either a full-hull or waterline model, as well as a pre- or post-upgrade version. This release also includes a fret of photo-etched metal detail parts.

Exclusive from Battlefleet Models. Harry Abbott (Harry_at_BFM) proudly announces BFM's next release - 1/700 AK-23 Alchiba, as fitted during the Guadalcanal Campaign. Due out in mid September, this kit will also include PE and brass rod, 9 paletted supplies and 5 LCVP's. Retail cost will be $70.00.
Square off with the Japanese battle line in Surigao Strait with H-P Models 1/700 USS Maryland. This resin kit has all the qualities we've come to expect from H-P Models. Cast in her 1944/45 fit, the Maryland will retail for $135.00 and is due out in September 2007.
Go back in time and defend the German Empire with the Kaiser’s Navy light cruisers. H-P Models announced the late release in their WWI-Kaiserliche Marine series. Finely cast in resin, the 1/700 SMS Dresden and the SMS Emden are scheduled to be release in late August. Retail cost - $60.00 each.
