Ahoy Shipmates! Trumpeter's 1/350 HMS Warspite is scheduled for a welcome arrival in your local port this holiday season!
Stevens International is now taking preorders for Trumpeter's new variant of the popular 1/350 HMS Warspite kit!

1/350 HMS Warspite British Battleship
New Variant!

**5325

The Warspite was a Queen
Elizabeth-class battleship of the British Royal Navy.
She valiantly served in both WWI and WWII, earning
the most battle honors ever awarded to an individual
ship in the Royal Navy, including the most awarded
for actions in WWII. Warspite fought in the Battle of
Jutland in WWI and in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans
as well as the Mediterranean Sea in WWII. She was
decommissioned in 1947, yet on the way to the scrap
yard, broke loose of her tug lines in a storm and she
beached. Various attempts were made to move her,
but in 1955 she gradually disappeared from view under
the sea just off the British Coast. Kit consists of over
540 parts including two Mk I aircraft, photo-etched
parts and display stand.

Scheduled to arrive in stock December 2012 for the SRP of $109.95.

Nice release by Trumpeter Academy Premium Warspite vs Trumpy's Warspite + Flyhawk. Which do you guys reckon will be a better kit?

I guess the Queen Elizabeth was not a good seller...so they rebox it modify it a bit and voila The Warspite. I would have hoped they had done this great lady in the WW1 configuration like their 1/700 kit. Probably go wth the Academy super kit with all the goodies for the same price.

Chuanren: I would have to see both of them in person to make a call on which I think would be better. In the end it's really going to come down to what is most important to you when buying a kit, but I think both are going to have their merits. Steve: Releasing a variant of a certain class of ship is a natural course. The Royal Navy didn't build five Queen Elizabeth-class battleships with a sixth on commission because the original was a failure, they commissioned and built them because they were regarded as a successful and good design. I would argue that the HMS Queen Elizabeth was a successful seller and Trumpeter is logically following with the second ship commissioned and built in this class, the HMS Warspite. It's a win-win situation for both Trumpeter and us because they are investing in a retool to create another ship in the same class conveniently delivered in a single kit at an affordable price. If they had not done this we would have to rely on more expensive AM items to modify the original kit. It's no different than a successful company investing in retooling and releasing several versions of the Sherman tank or the Bf-109 fighter. That said, I would certainly like an option of the original fit for the HMS Warspite.

Hello, i believe the QE is a good reference point to compare the Trumpeter vs the Academy. From what i see, the Trumpeter QE seems to have a better hull detail than the Academy one. Not sure about the super structure detail and PE details though.
